About
Robbyn Myers is the Principal of BGE Environmental (BGE) whose professional experience provides a complete suite of environmental consulting services for critical area assessments, project design, land use development, and environmental code compliance.
Robbyn’s career was launched doing scientific studies on both estuarine and wetland communities. Much of her early work was developing a seagrass monitoring program for the 156-mile-long Indian River Lagoon estuary. During this time, she was instrumental in the research and development of rapid seagrass monitoring protocols which are still being used today. Her first exposure to wetland ecology was as a research scientist on the Upper St Johns River Basin, a 2,000 square mile basin, which is one of the largest and most ambitious flood control and wetland restoration projects in the world.
She has over 25 years of training and experience as a field biologist and wetland delineator. Employment history includes local, state, and federal agencies as both a technical expert and a regulatory reviewer. Robbyn has a solid working knowledge of local regulations by application and from participating in and with interagency representatives through ordinance revisions and update processes for Western Washington shorelines and critical areas.
Robbyn has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program (SWSPCP) for ten years. She held the Office of President in 2015-2016. She is currently Secretary General, Chair of the Outreach Committee, and Chair of the Awards Committee. She represented the SWSPCP as a Keynote Speaker at the Society of Wetland Scientist Asian Chapter Conference in Taipei Taiwan in 2018. (Advocacy)
Robbyn is one of 480 Professional Wetland Scientists (PWS) internationally recognized by SWSPCP as a “Senior Professional Wetland Scientist”; PWS/SPWS.
Robbyn brings a strong technical background to the regulatory table, avoiding generic solutions to complex problems. From boots to building, she routinely helps clients balance the economic viability of a project with responsible stewardship of natural environments.
